Oscar de la Torre’s story is a testament to the power of community and the difference one person can make when they dedicate their life to serving others. Born and raised in Santa Monica’s Pico Neighborhood, Oscar has lived the experiences of his neighbors. He shares their dreams, and he rolls up his sleeves, working side by side to bring back the hope for our community, and our shared future.
Oscar has first-hand experience with living in Santa Monica, he stepped in when the city was on the brink of bankruptcy, without a city manager, or a police chief. Since then he has partnered with the best in our city to bring stability to his hometown, and with your help, he will continue to bring the resources and collaboration needed to deliver a safe, vibrant city that works for each of us. Oscar continues to live in the Pico neighborhood, along with his wife Maria and their two sons, Oscar Jr. and Fidel.
